About the Company
SeatGeek is a technology company focused on simplifying and modernizing ticketing for live events. With a fan-first approach, the company uses technology to connect people with experiences that bring them together.
About the Role
SeatGeek is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join its Analytics team and focus on the supply side of its marketplace. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the Supply organization, particularly seller-facing and client-facing teams, to turn complex data into insights that guide business decisions, identify growth opportunities, and improve marketplace performance.
This is a high-impact individual contributor position for someone who can navigate ambiguity, connect business strategy with marketplace and product data, and identify opportunities to improve outcomes for users and the business. You will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business leaders to develop measurement frameworks, evaluate initiatives, and deliver actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the live events business and how supply dynamics influence marketplace health.
- Partner with Supply, Product, and Engineering teams to understand business objectives and define an analytics roadmap that supports their goals.
- Evaluate seller policy decisions, including fees, fulfillment standards, and seller performance requirements, by quantifying trade-offs before launch and measuring impact afterward.
- Work with Client Success and Entertainment teams that manage relationships with sports teams and venues to identify partnership opportunities and help clients grow their businesses.
- Provide account managers with data-driven insights to strengthen seller relationships and uncover opportunities for growth.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to build measurement frameworks, develop reporting, and collaborate with engineers to accelerate feature iteration.
- Conduct exploratory and root-cause analyses to explain performance changes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Translate complex analyses into clear, data-driven narratives and recommendations for internal leaders.
- Create and improve key datasets and contribute to analytical tools and workflows, including dbt and Hex, to support current and future business questions.
Required Qualifications
- At least four years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field, preferably in technology, e-commerce marketplaces, or consumer products.
- Expert-level SQL skills and experience analyzing large datasets.
- Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems, from defining the right questions to delivering actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex analyses, justify methodological decisions, and influence action through insights.
- Demonstrated ability to influence business strategy using data.
- A collaborative mindset and interest in contributing to a team culture built around curiosity, humility, and impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with two-sided marketplaces or relevant domain expertise.
- Familiarity with Python for data analysis and development.
Technology Stack
SeatGeek's analytics environment includes the following tools and technologies. Experience with every tool is not required; the company values general engineering and analytical skills over familiarity with a specific language or platform.
- Required language: SQL
- Data warehouse: Amazon Redshift
- Dashboarding and analytics: Looker and Hex
- Version control: GitLab
- AI tools: Claude Code and Hex Agent
- Workflow scheduling and orchestration: Airflow
