About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join MANTECH’s dynamic team in Springfield, VA. This pivotal role involves safeguarding critical systems and data by proactively identifying, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats in a fast-paced operational environment. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will serve as a key member of the Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC), providing expert-level support in incident response, threat analysis, and security monitoring. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to cybersecurity, ensuring the continuous protection and resilience of mission-critical systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to national security initiatives and work alongside a team of dedicated cybersecurity professionals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of educational background and professional experience, including:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or alternatively, 4+ years of additional cyber experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, specifically in incident response, malware detection, and threat analysis.
• Active IAT Level II certification such as GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security.
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with current Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) cybersecurity technologies and a solid understanding of database and operating system security principles.
• Strong knowledge of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols to effectively identify and mitigate cyber threats.

Responsibilities

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will undertake a variety of critical responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Providing leadership and advanced support within the Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC), managing cyber and network sensor activities to ensure optimal security posture.
• Performing security event and incident correlation by analyzing data collected from multiple enterprise sources to identify potential threats.
• Conducting cyber incident triage to assess scope, urgency, and potential impact, while identifying vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate remediation measures.
• Tracking and managing cyber incidents from initial detection through resolution, analyzing potential damage to data and infrastructure.
• Performing trend analysis of cyber engineering data, producing detailed reports, and supporting 24x7 mission operations to maintain continuous security monitoring.
• Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance monitoring capabilities and response readiness, ensuring swift action against emerging threats.
