Schwab is transforming enterprise data and analytics through a secure, scalable, and self-service Google Cloud–based ecosystem. As part of this evolution, the Schwab Google Data & Analytics (SGDA) ecosystem is expanding its Core Cloud Data Platforms and Data Sourcing capabilities to support firmwide analytics, AI/ML, and next-generation data products.

This is an individual contributor role. We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer for our Analytics Data Platform Engineering Automation team. In this role you will be responsible for automating the deployment, testing, and delivery of software in a fast-paced agile environment. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for innovative technologies and a strong understanding of continuous integration, DevOps and deployment (CICD) and/or Site Reliability

Engineering (SRE) methodologies.

This is an opportunity to participate in cutting-edge cloud activation integration that will facilitate activation of data insights across Schwab in a highly regulated environment.

Core DevOps, DevSecOps & CI/CD Ownership

• Act as the technical owner, leveraging DevOps and DevSecOps expertise to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud data warehouse and analytics ecosystem platforms.
• Develop automation and processes that enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor applications efficiently.
• Monitor and maintain the stability, performance, and reliability of CI/CD environments.
• Automating build processes using GitHub, GitHub Actions
• Integrate security and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines, including CodeQL, Veracode, and Sonar.
• Develop custom Python based checks and validations and integrate them into CI/CD workflows to enforce standards and reduce risk. Cloud Platform Engineering & Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Deliver solutions in complex, distributed system environments, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform and enterprise data ecosystems, including ETL, BI, and data governance platforms.
• Manage and maintain build and deployment infrastructure, including Bamboo agents, SDKs, service accounts, and keys on Unix based build servers.
• Partnering with development and platform/prod support teams to identify and resolve deployment issues
• Collaborating with other members of the DevOps team to achieve common goals
• Drive continuous improvements to deployment processes, platform reliability, security, and

operational efficiency.

Stay current with emerging DevOps, SRE, and cloud technology trends; evaluate and adopt new tools and practices where appropriate.

What you have

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.

Minimum 8 years of experience with 5 years focused on DevOps and CICD technologies &

minimum 3 years of Public Cloud experience, preferably Google Cloud

5+ years CICD Automation: Hand on experience building CICD pipelines for GCP technologies

(BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, PubSub) or Bamboo, Bitbucket, or GitHub &

GitHub Actions. Managing code repositories in Bitbucket, Github, Jenkins, Airflow, Cloud Build etc.

Automating build processes including DevSecOps (Veracode, BlackDuck, Sonar etc) in SDLC.

Experience with schema management products like Liquibase or SQL Server Integration Services

5+ years Automation & Scripting: Proficient in Python or one of the following scripting languages:

Java, Bash, Perl, and PowerShell.

3+ years Infrastructure Management: Lead the design, provisioning, scaling, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, Terraform or Ansible, to

automate and optimize Cloud and on-prem resources.

3+ years Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership and develop automation for

application development and operation teams. Take end to end ownership for DevOps & SRE

engineering ensuring best practices in cloud and on-prem are followed.

2-3+ years SRE: Experience with Splunk, Cloud Logging, Grafana and other monitoring or

reporting tools

1 year of Schwab technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee

5+ years Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to forge strong relationships and

coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders and actively communicate updates to

development, admin, and relevant support teams, management. Attitude that fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and with cross-functional technical and business teams

Leadership

Proven ability to mentor and lead diverse teams, fostering an environment of growth and

innovation.

Communication

Exceptional communication abilities, capable of effectively negotiating and influencing across multiple levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Python skills for scripting and automation, with experience handling the complexities

of cloud-native environments

Delivering solutions in a complex environment including distributed systems and applications

focused on Google Cloud, and ETL (IICS, Informatica PC), BI and data governance platforms

Experience with ETL products like Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Intelligent Cloud

Services (IICS) and Talend

• Critical-thinking and strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze and understand data
• Functional knowledge of financial banking, stock brokerage or insurance domains is preferred
• Experience working in Agile team, familiar with Scrum and Kanban process
• Developing automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and

monitor their applications. Monitor and maintain the stability and performance of the various

CICD environments

Partnering with development and platform/prod support teams to identify and resolve

deployment issues

Bringing a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new DevOps

Google Cloud

Experience with GCP technologies and services will be strongly preferred
