Role overview

The COO Group supports efficiency, scalability, and control across RBC Capital Markets trading operations.

The Liquidity, Funding and Payment Services pillar supports Treasury, Cash, Control, and Collateral Management capabilities.

The Payments Product Organization is focused on improving straight-through processing rates and controls for high-value payments across Capital Markets.

The role helps shape and advance a transformation roadmap spanning people, processes, data, and technology.

What you will do

  • Lead business process mapping, analysis, and redesign to identify inefficiencies, automation opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Analyze current-state Capital Markets payments ecosystems for the payments modernization program.
  • Collaborate with operations, legal, compliance, risk, technology, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Support operational readiness for product rollouts through training and internal team support.
  • Model, plan, and execute test cases.
  • Develop and prioritize roadmaps.
  • Design payment dashboards and end-to-end tracking tools.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies, competitive trends, and Capital Markets transformation.
  • Manage cross-functional teams to achieve stakeholder buy-in.
  • Report project status, milestones, and achievements to stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and service providers when assessing technologies and industry trends.

What you will need

  • 5+ years as a Business or Product Analyst in financial institutions, especially in Capital Markets or payments and cash management.
  • 3+ years of hands-on agile development in a product owner role, including user stories and backlog refinement.
  • Knowledge of ISO and MT/MX payment formats, SWIFT messaging, FX payments, and instant payments processing.
  • Understanding of innovative technologies and current technology trends.
  • CSM or CTP certification is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical resources and complete tasks without significant supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with legal, compliance, and regulatory obligations related to payments and Capital Markets.
