Salesforce Data Systems Consultant

Hartford Promise is a nonprofit scholarship and college success organization helping talented Hartford Public Schools students access college, graduate, and transition into careers. Through our Integrated College Success Model, we provide financial support, coaching, resources, community, and career opportunities to more than 1,000 Promise Scholars.

• About the Role
• Hartford Promise is seeking a Salesforce & Data Systems Consultant to support and improve our Salesforce ecosystem, which powers both fundraising through Salesforce NPSP and Scholar success through College Possible CoPilot/Coach Possible.

Working closely with staff and our internal Salesforce administrator, this consultant will improve systems and automation, maintain integrations, strengthen data quality and reporting, troubleshoot issues, and translate organizational needs into practical technical solutions.

We are looking for someone who can solve immediate problems while proactively identifying ways to make our systems simpler, more reliable, and more effective.

Key Responsibilities

• Salesforce & Automation
• • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, campaigns, and Salesforce Flow automations
• • Troubleshoot system errors, automation failures, permissions, and configuration issues
• • Manage users, licenses, warnings, and access
• • Improve processes and reduce unnecessary manual work

• Scholar Data & CoPilot
• • Support College Possible CoPilot as Hartford Promise’s Scholar CRM
• • KEY: Build and maintain registration forms, surveys, and Salesforce integrations
• • Manage the annual Scholar survey
• • Improve tracking for careers, internships, employment, events, and programs
• • Support data imports, cleanup, organization, and reporting
• • Improve how Scholar and program data is collected and structured

• Integrations & Connected Systems
• • Maintain and troubleshoot Salesforce integrations, including Donorbox, Jotform,
• Mailchimp, and Mogli
• • Resolve synchronization, field mapping, automation, and data-quality issues
• • Recommend improvements to system reliability and efficiency

• Data & Technical Support
• • Help maintain accurate, organized, and usable donor, Scholar, and program data
• • Support data standards, validation, duplicate management, permissions, and
• security
• • Document systems, configurations, and processes as appropriate
• • Provide technical guidance to Hartford Promise staff
• • Provide limited occasional support related to Google Workspace, Google
• Classroom, and domain/DNS needs
• • Evaluate appropriate uses of automation and AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency
• while protecting privacy and data security

• Deep Salesforce expertise is required. Experience with every platform listed above is
• not. The right candidate should be comfortable learning new systems and troubleshooting
• integrations.

Qualifications

Required:

• • Strong Salesforce administration and configuration experience
• • Experience with Salesforce Flow, integrations, and data management
• • Strong troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills
• • Ability to translate organizational needs into technical solutions
• • Strong communication skills with non-technical staff
• • Ability to independently manage projects in a remote environment

Preferred:

• • Nonprofit Salesforce and/or NPSP experience
• • Experience with education, student success, or nonprofit data systems
• • College Possible CoPilot experience
• • Salesforce certification
• • Experience with fundraising or donor data

Custom development experience, including APIs or Apex, is a plus but not required.

• Engagement Structure
• • Part-time consulting role, approximately 20 hours per month
• • Fully remote with a flexible schedule
• • Works closely with Hartford Promise staff and our internal Salesforce administrator
