- Quality Assurance Analyst – Advanced
- Location: Columbia, South Carolina
- Work Arrangement: Fully On-site – 5 days/week
- Contract: 12 months, with possible extension
- Interview: 1 round virtual/online
- We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to support technology projects for the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS), the state's Medicaid agency.
- The QA Analyst will support complex application development and systems integration projects, including enrollment, eligibility, claims-related systems, document management, workflows, and related subsystems.
- The role will focus on test planning, test automation, test execution, defect management, quality governance, and ensuring applications meet business and technical requirements.
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support QA, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and test processes.
- Translate business requirements and policy documentation into detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Design and execute functional, regression, system integration, smoke, end-to-end, negative, and usability testing.
- Develop and maintain test automation scripts using established test automation guidelines.
- Design and execute tests for application reliability, stability, performance, and functionality.
- Identify, document, track, and communicate defects, issues, gaps, and action items.
- Maintain defect and testing information and communicate testing outcomes to development teams and leadership.
- Perform quality assessments to identify defects, security concerns, and opportunities for optimization.
- Review and provide guidance on vendor unit/system integration test plans and test results.
- Review test scripts, scenarios, test reports, and testing documentation.
- Participate in reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections while ensuring compliance with established QA governance standards.
- Collaborate with software developers, architects, technical teams, business stakeholders, and management.
- Provide status updates regarding testing progress, open issues, risks, and gaps.
- Recommend improvements based on industry QA standards and best practices.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field OR 5+ years of equivalent Quality Assurance experience.
- 5+ years of Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience.
- 5+ years of experience translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and test scenarios.
- 3+ years of experience with Sahi Pro and/or Selenium automation frameworks.
- Experience developing test automation scripts.
- Working knowledge of at least one formal process area such as Spice, TPI, TMMI, CMMI OPF, OPD, or PPQA.
- Hands-on experience with formal test design techniques such as Equivalence Class Partitioning and Pairwise Analysis.
- Experience with PICT or equivalent orthogonal-based test design tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to document requirements, use cases, test scenarios, test cases, and testing outcomes.
- Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with large enterprise or e-business systems.
- 3+ years of Medicaid or healthcare IT experience.
- Experience with X12 standards and EDI transactions.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience working in both Waterfall/SDLC and Agile delivery environments.
- Project Environment
- The position supports the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) and its large-scale Medicaid technology initiatives. The QA resource will work on complex, change-oriented projects involving enrollment, eligibility, claims processing, document management, workflows, and systems integration.
- Important Location Requirement
- This is a fully onsite position in Columbia, South Carolina, 5 days per week. Candidates must currently reside in South Carolina or be willing to relocate to South Carolina at their own expense before starting the position.
