Programmer Analyst - Oracle Apex Developer
- Collaborate with the team on data modernization projects for vital statistics and records.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and enhancement of the Virginia Vital Events and Screening Tracking System (VVESTS) using Oracle Application Express (APEX).
- Work with a secure, low-code platform to build and maintain scalable enterprise applications supporting critical registries (Birth, Death, Screening).
- Integrate VVESTS with various state and federal agencies (LVA, DSS, DMV, DCLS, SSA, CDC, NCHS, NAPHSIS).
- Ensure strict security and compliance with HIPAA regulations due to the sensitive nature of PII and PHI data.
- Develop new Oracle APEX pages and application components to enhance system functionality and user experience.
- Strengthen security controls and implement advanced Oracle APEX features for improved performance and sustainability.
- Utilize strong SQL and PL/SQL skills for database development.
- Apply JavaScript or jQuery for front-end enhancements.
- (Desired) Work with Oracle PL/SQL web toolkit and RESTful/SOAP web services for application integration.
- Ensure ongoing system performance, security, and modern user interface capabilities.
- Support the long-term sustainability of the VVESTS platform through innovative development practices.
