About the Role

The Senior Power BI Developer will lead the development of enterprise reporting solutions, design and maintain semantic models, and build interactive dashboards that help business users make informed decisions. This hands-on role focuses on delivering scalable Power BI solutions, improving reporting performance, and establishing consistent standards for BI development and governance.

The position is fully remote and offers a salary of $133,000–$150,000, depending on experience. The ideal candidate brings extensive business intelligence and reporting experience, advanced Power BI development skills, and the ability to collaborate with data engineering teams while supporting BI best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise semantic models using dimensional modeling principles.
• Develop advanced DAX measures, calculation groups, and time intelligence logic.
• Create interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for business users.
• Develop paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder and Power BI Report Server (PBIRS).
• Support source control practices and CI/CD processes for Power BI projects.
• Improve report and model performance through performance tuning, query folding, and model optimization.
• Implement row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), sensitivity labels, and dataset governance practices.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to shape, validate, and prepare source data for reporting.
• Document semantic models, data lineage, and reporting standards.
• Mentor team members and support the adoption of BI development best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
• 15+ years of overall business intelligence and reporting experience.
• Strong experience designing enterprise semantic models.
• Advanced knowledge of DAX and performance tuning.
• Experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Proficiency in Power Query and SQL for data preparation.
• Experience with CI/CD and source-controlled business intelligence development.
• Understanding of row-level security and object-level security.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $133,000–$150,000, depending on experience.
