Power BI Developer II (WFH)

About the Role

Inceed is partnering with a client to find an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to help build and maintain enterprise reporting solutions. This is a hands-on opportunity for a BI professional who can design scalable semantic models, develop advanced reporting solutions, and improve the performance and governance of Power BI assets.

You will work closely with data engineering teams and business stakeholders to turn complex data into useful, reliable reporting. The role also involves establishing development standards, supporting source control and CI/CD practices, and helping other team members follow effective business intelligence practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise semantic models using dimensional modeling principles.

• Develop advanced DAX measures, calculation groups, and time intelligence logic to support business reporting requirements.

• Build interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that help business users analyze data and make informed decisions.

• Develop paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder and Power BI Report Server (PBIRS).

• Support source control and CI/CD processes for Power BI development projects.

• Optimize data models and reports through performance tuning, query folding, and model optimization.

• Implement and maintain row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), sensitivity labels, and dataset governance practices.

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to shape, validate, and prepare source data for reporting.

• Document semantic models, data lineage, and reporting standards to support consistency and maintainability.

• Mentor colleagues and contribute to broader business intelligence best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of overall experience in business intelligence and reporting.

• 5–7 years of hands-on Power BI development experience.

• Strong experience designing enterprise semantic models using dimensional modeling principles.

• Advanced knowledge of DAX, including complex calculations and performance tuning.

• Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

• Proficiency in Power Query and SQL for data preparation and transformation.

• Experience with CI/CD workflows and source-controlled BI development.

• Understanding of row-level security and object-level security in Power BI environments.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $133,000–$150,000, depending on experience. The role also includes a comprehensive benefits package, with full details provided during later stages of the hiring process.

• This is a fully remote position.
