Job Summary:

  • We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer / Data Engineering Lead with strong hands-on experience building and modernizing enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, SQL, Python, and modern BI/semantic-layer technologies such as Looker, Omni.
  • This role will be responsible for designing scalable data models, developing reliable transformation pipelines, establishing semantic layers, modernizing legacy reporting environments, and partnering closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver trusted, actionable analytics.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable, high-quality data platforms using Snowflake, Databricks, and dbt.
  • Build and maintain robust dbt models, including incremental models, tests, macros, documentation, and performance optimization.
  • Develop enterprise-grade data models and semantic layers that provide a reliable single source of truth for analytics and reporting.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines using SQL, Python, Airflow, Databricks/DLT, and other modern data engineering technologies.
  • Develop analytics solutions using Looker, Omni.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Modernize legacy data warehouses, reporting environments, and BI platforms.
  • Improve data quality, reliability, performance, governance, and observability across the data ecosystem.
  • Implement automated data validation, reconciliation, testing, and monitoring processes.
  • Optimize complex SQL queries, Snowflake workloads, dbt transformations, and Databricks pipelines.
  • Establish and enforce best practices around data modeling, documentation, testing, governance, and deployment.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive reporting and data processes using Python and modern data technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and analytics engineers.
  • Work in an Agile environment and participate in architecture discussions, sprint planning, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
  • Required Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, BI Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with dbt and modern analytics engineering practices.
  • Strong experience with Databricks, preferably including Delta Lake / DLT / Lakehouse architecture.
  • Expert-level SQL skills with experience working with complex datasets and analytical workloads.
  • Strong Python programming and automation experience.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and semantic-layer architecture.
  • Experience with Looker, Omni.
  • Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience migrating data warehouses such as Redshift to Snowflake.
  • Experience with Semantic modeling.
  • Experience implementing data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with Azure Stack.
  • Experience working with financial, operational, marketing, or product analytics datasets.
  • Experience leading data modernization or BI transformation initiatives.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and technical leadership skills.
  • Ideal Candidate
  • The ideal candidate is someone who can operate across both data engineering and analytics. They should be comfortable going from raw data ingestion and transformation to Snowflake/dbt modeling, semantic-layer development, and BI delivery.
  • Candidates with experience implementing a modern stack such as:
  • Snowflake → dbt → Databricks → Semantic Layer → Looker/Omni.
