We're looking for a marketing data analyst who sees the gap between the speed at which AI can surface answers and the trustworthiness of that data. If you want to help create the category defining product for trusted agency analytics, this job is for you.

  • About Summer
  • We are on a mission to make data a pleasure. We’re building a new kind of analytics product, trustable at its core, specifically for agencies and the clients they serve. As a company, we're guided by a set of core values that keep us cool, colorful, and full of energy, even during the most sweltering design and development sessions.
  • Our values are:
  • The harder the engineering, the more excited we get.
  • Magic happens when design and engineering are best friends.
  • We make room to be creative and explore.
  • People first, always.
  • Maximize generosity.
  • Chase success.
  • About The Role
  • Agency data intelligence is one of the last layers in marketing analytics that is yet to be solved. Agencies sit on rich client data, spread across dozens of platforms, yet getting trustworthy answers out of it generally still runs through a single resource: the analyst.
  • We're building the intelligence layer independent agencies own outright, where anyone on the team can ask a client's marketing data questions in plain English and get back answers they can stand behind. The hard part has never been pulling the numbers, it's been trusting the answers enough to confidently build a strategy on top of them. This is what Summer is solving.
  • What you'll do
  • Pressure-test our data normalization layer against real agency data. Surface every area where definitions, attribution windows, and metrics disagree with each other.
  • Develop the data normalization methodology that turns inconsistent multi-platform marketing data into one reliable layer agency teams can use to defend their strategies.
  • Translate what you uncover into product direction, working closely with engineering on how a question becomes a verified answer rather than a confident guess.
  • Shape how natural-language querying through Claude and ChatGPT returns something an experienced analyst would immediately recognize as correct and complete.
  • Build and maintain the documentation behind our open-sourced normalization formulas. We’re aiming to become a reference the whole industry can lean on instead of reinventing privately.
  • Partner with agency teams to sharpen the product, grounding what we ship in how measurement works out in the field.
  • What you'll bring
  • Hands-on experience as a marketing data analyst at or near an agency.
  • Fluency in multi-platform performance data and how it is used under deadline pressure.
  • Strong command of the everyday marketing analytics stack, including GA4, Looker Studio, major ad platforms, and the logic behind attribution modeling and industry standard metrics (ROAS, CAC, etc).
  • Comfort working with messy, inconsistent data, and a track record of turning it into something a team can stand behind.
  • A genuine eye for where numbers disagree, why they disagree, and what it takes to reconcile them.
  • Bonus points
  • You've built an internal agency reporting pipeline yourself, and learnt firsthand why it was far harder than it looked.
  • You've worked with MCP, semantic layers, or data normalization somewhere inside a marketing or analytics context.
  • You've lived the frustration we’re attempting to solve.
  • Working at Summer
  • We offer competitive compensation packages, including generous equity grants. We also provide 401k, and health, dental, and vision benefits with premiums covered 100% for you and 75% for your dependents. We have unlimited time off with a minimum of 15 days per year required, so you can always load up on vitamin sea!
