1. About Our Client:

The organization operates within the insurance industry, focusing on property and casualty insurance with a specialization in workers compensation. It addresses challenges related to data governance, analytics, and decision-making processes by implementing advanced analytics and enterprise-wide data governance strategies.

2. About the Opportunity:

The Manager, Data Governance and Analytics leads the enterprise data governance and analytics teams, driving the strategic alignment and operationalization of advanced analytics across the organization. This role is crucial for managing governance initiatives, coordinating analytics efforts, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to optimize business objectives.

3. Responsibilities:

  • Manage the enterprise Data Governance and Analytics Center of Excellence teams, providing leadership and professional development.
  • Oversee data governance initiatives including Data Quality, Data Stewardship, Data Acquisition and Release Policy, and Data Privacy.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise data and analytics strategy and maturity model.
  • Coordinate annual functional planning, goal setting, budgeting, staffing, and training with team leaders.
  • Utilize project management skills to collaborate with data scientists, engineers, governors, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal data and IT governance functions to support enterprise analytics portfolio.
  • Create executive presentations to inform leadership on governance activities and business case progress.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop analytic strategies, tools, and standard processes.

4. Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, mathematics, business administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Relevant education and experience combinations considered.
  • Minimum seven years of data, analytics, or related experience, including three years of supervisory or project leadership experience.
  • General understanding of property and casualty insurance; in-depth knowledge of workers compensation preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with advanced organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Leadership and team-building skills to supervise and develop staff effectively.
  • Ability to present information and reports to all management levels.

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

  • Actual compensation depends on internal equity, candidate skills and experience, geographic location, market factors, and other considerations.
  • Reasonable salary estimate ranges between $121,500 and $203,400.
