A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to drive the strategic adoption and implementation of AI solutions across the business. The Opportunity

  • As a Lead Data Scientist, you will act as a senior technical expert and trusted advisor, identifying opportunities to leverage AI, machine learning and advanced analytics across the organisation. You will evaluate emerging technologies, design AI-powered solutions and help transform how the business operates through intelligent automation and data-driven decision making.
  • This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of Data Science, AI Strategy, Product Innovation and Business Transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and deployment of advanced AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, automate processes and create new business value through AI
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry innovations to ensure adoption of best-in-class solutions
  • Design and implement AI-powered tools and intelligent assistants that enhance employee and customer experiences
  • Develop predictive models, machine learning algorithms and advanced analytical solutions
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities and translate requirements into impactful AI initiatives
  • Guide experimentation, model validation and deployment activities
  • Establish best practices for model governance, risk management and AI implementation
  • Manage complex projects, ensuring successful delivery and stakeholder alignment
  • Mentor and develop Data Scientists and technical teams across the organisation
  • Present insights, recommendations and technical solutions to senior executive leadership

About You

You'll be a highly accomplished Data Science professional with a strong track record of delivering AI and Machine Learning solutions in complex enterprise environments.

Essential Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics or Finance
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Science, Predictive Analytics or Advanced Analytics
  • Strong expertise in AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI technologies
  • Advanced programming skills in Python, R or similar languages
  • Experience working with structured, semi-structured and unstructured datasets
  • Strong SQL and database querying experience
  • Experience developing, deploying and validating predictive and machine learning models
  • Strong understanding of model governance and risk management frameworks
  • Experience leading large-scale analytics and AI initiatives
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills

Highly Desirable

  • Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline
  • Experience within financial services, banking, insurance or regulated industries
  • Experience from leading technology organisations
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing AI-powered products and solutions
  • Expertise in Generative AI, automation and enterprise AI adoption
  • Systems integration and complex technology implementation experience
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership and business strategy
