About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Data Architect to join Orangutech on a contract basis to support the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the assessment and modernization of PSAC’s enterprise data ecosystem. As a Lead Data Architect, you will be responsible for evaluating existing data systems, designing optimized data flow architectures, and developing strategies to improve data accuracy, integrity, and overall quality. Your expertise will be instrumental in aligning data initiatives with organizational goals, fostering collaboration with IT leadership and stakeholders, and driving strategic improvements across the organization’s data landscape.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in data architecture, including designing and implementing complex data systems.
- Deep understanding of data flow optimization techniques and best practices.
- Proven experience with SaaS and PaaS migration assessments and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategic insights and actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with IT teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Experience in data quality management, cleansing, and reconciliation processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced certifications in data management or architecture are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive inventory of all systems storing organizational data to establish a clear understanding of the data landscape.
- Map existing data flows and integration patterns to identify areas for optimization and increased efficiency.
- Assess current data quality levels, identify gaps, and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Develop and implement data cleansing and reconciliation strategies to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Create detailed documentation of data dependencies, system interfaces, and integration points affecting data quality and management.
- Collaborate closely with IT leadership and stakeholders to align data architecture initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Lead efforts to modernize the data ecosystem, including evaluating SaaS and PaaS solutions for migration and integration.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance data governance, security, and compliance.
- Support the development of data management policies and best practices to foster a culture of data excellence within PSAC.
