Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Junior Data Analyst at RICPTS. The Junior Data Analyst will support the analysis of research data related to criminology, forensic sciences, and security studies, helping to generate clear, reliable insights for editorial and research teams. Daily tasks include cleaning and organizing datasets, performing basic statistical analyses, preparing data visualizations, and assisting in the development of simple data models. The role also involves documenting methods, contributing to data-related sections of reports or articles, and collaborating with editors, researchers, and subject-matter experts to ensure data accuracy and clarity. The position requires proactive communication in a remote environment and adherence to high standards of data confidentiality and research integrity.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Analytical Skills and Data Analytics, with the ability to interpret research data and draw clear, evidence-based conclusions.
Knowledge of Statistics and basic Data Modeling, including experience with statistical tests, regression, or similar methods.
Effective Communication skills, including the ability to present complex data in a clear, concise, and accessible manner for non-specialist audiences.
Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python, or similar) and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in data science, statistics, criminology, social sciences, computer science, or a related field.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage tasks independently in a remote setting.
Interest in criminology, forensic sciences, or security studies; prior academic or project experience in these domains is an advantage.
Commitment to ethical handling of sensitive data and adherence to research and publication standards.
