About the Company

Hoodie Analytics supports cannabis brands, consumers, and retailers with a comprehensive suite of analytics, apps, and data-enabled services that provide marketplace intelligence on sales, distribution, price, and promotion. Data is at the core of our business; we maintain the largest database of cannabis activity, held to the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

About the Role

This is an early-career position built for someone who is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to develop deep expertise in cannabis data. You’ll report directly to the Lead Catalog Analyst and work alongside a small, collaborative team of analysts focused on data standardization and enrichment.

Our Junior Analysts focus on one of two areas: cannabis product data (brands, SKUs, attributes, and categorization) or dispensary and menu data (dispensary profiles, menu accuracy, and listing consistency). The underlying skills are the same across both tracks. Your specific focus area will be determined based on team needs at the time of hire.

Day-to-day, you’ll help clean, categorize, and validate data drawn from sources like dispensary menus, POS systems, and wholesale databases. AI tools are part of how our team works. You’ll be expected to use them, experiment with them, and help us find smarter ways to get things done. Over time, you’ll build the skills and product knowledge to grow into a Lead Analyst role.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining and enriching Hoodie’s catalog data, including cannabis products, brands, dispensaries, and menus, to keep records structured and uniform
  • Clean, standardize, and categorize data from multiple sources (e.g., dispensary menus, POS systems, wholesale databases)
  • Identify and flag inconsistencies in product names, brands, descriptions, dispensary profiles, and/or menu listings
  • Work within Hoodie’s internal tools to validate and correct data discrepancies
  • Perform routine data quality checks under the guidance of the Lead Catalog Analyst
  • Collaborate with team members to share findings and contribute to process improvements
  • Gradually take ownership of a defined portfolio of brands, products, or dispensary accounts
  • Use AI tools to assist with research, data cleaning, and pattern identification, and share what’s working with the team

Qualifications

  • Must-Have Skills
  • 1–2 years of experience in a data-focused, analytical, or research role
  • Solid Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
  • Basic SQL knowledge for querying or auditing data
  • Open to using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) as part of everyday workflows
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to repetitive, precision-driven work
  • Good written communication skills and ability to document findings clearly
  • Curious and self-directed: able to research unfamiliar products or categories independently
  • Reliable and consistent
  • Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Familiarity with cannabis products, brands, or the retail cannabis industry
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools for research, writing, or data tasks
  • Experience working with product, inventory, or e-commerce data
  • Previous experience in a SaaS, retail, or wholesale data environment
  • Comfort with learning new internal tools and workflows quickly

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive benefits package including 401k, health, and dental insurance
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • A collaborative, innovative work environment that values professional growth
  • Opportunities to work on cutting-edge technologies and products that make a difference in the cannabis industry
