Job Overview

The IT Business Analyst IV is a member of an IT agile/scrum team responsible for understanding business process objectives and helping their team translate needs into actionable technology requirements/designs. Major activities include requirements creation, gap analysis, assisting business leaders and product owners in prioritization, providing analysis to determine best risk-to-value enterprise solutions, data mapping, and providing level 2 support. The IT Business Analyst will have a hands-on role in the full Agile/Scrum life cycle, from user story ideation through development, deployment, and production support.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Creates and provides end-to-end business requirements through 1) collaboration with stakeholders, business owners, and product owners; 2) understanding of applications and systems that run the business areas supported; 3) the combination and analysis of data from different sources from across the enterprise
• Performs gap analysis on existing systems, processes, and data sets to determine value-based solutions that increase efficiency, productivity, and utilization of company resources
• Assists stakeholders, business owners, and product owners to set priorities of the work needed for products, systems, and application roadmaps to best achieve customer goals and highest value outcomes using the analysis of requirements, gaps, business systems, and data
• Helps ensure the best risk-to-value enterprise solutions are selected for implementation by working cross-functionally with agile/scrum teams and the Communities of Service investigating enterprise-wide initiatives
• Creates complex data mappings for movement of data between a variety of data storage technologies including relational (transaction systems), denormalized (data warehouses), and unstructured
• Participates in key agile scrum routines such as backlog refinement, user story mapping, sprint reviews, and retrospectives in order to increase efficiencies and processes
• Provides level 2 support for all technology solutions in the assigned application portfolio by performing root cause analysis, collaborating with business partners, CCBCC, CONA, and IT Teammates to resolve the issues and or incidents

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• The Business Analyst IV supports and coaches Business Analysts I, II and 111, for several business areas/products
• The Business Analyst IV may also be working closely with Product Owners
• The Business Analyst IV will assist in removing more difficult issues that require excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Must have 7+ years of experience with IT solution implementations

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (4 years) and knowledge acquired through 7 or more years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in technology or business preferred
