- Investment Banking Analyst II/III, Leveraged Finance
- Location: New York, NY
- We are seeking an experienced Investment Banking Analyst to join our Leveraged Finance team in New York. The Analyst will play a key role in the execution of debt financing transactions and provide analytical support across a broad range of leveraged finance activities, including leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, refinancings, recapitalizations, and other strategic financing initiatives.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong financial modeling and analytical skills, experience supporting complex transactions, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Support the origination and execution of leveraged finance transactions, including high-yield bond offerings, syndicated loans, bridge financings, and other debt capital markets activities.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including leveraged buyout (LBO), merger and acquisition (M&A), operating, debt capacity, and valuation models.
- Conduct financial and industry analysis, market research, and due diligence.
- Prepare client-facing materials, including pitch books, financing proposals, information memoranda, management presentations, and internal approval materials.
- Assist senior bankers in evaluating financing alternatives and capital structure recommendations for corporate and private equity clients.
- Analyze company performance, credit metrics, liquidity profiles, and transaction impacts.
- Coordinate with internal product partners, legal counsel, accounting advisors, investors, and other third parties throughout transaction execution.
- Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and comparable transactions to support business development and client advisory efforts.
- Participate in client meetings, diligence sessions, and transaction discussions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 1+ years of investment banking experience, preferably within Leveraged Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Financial Sponsors, M&A, or a related coverage/product group.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
- Solid understanding of capital structures, credit analysis, fixed income markets, and leveraged finance products.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting leveraged loan and high-yield bond transactions.
- Familiarity with private equity-sponsored transactions.
- Exposure to debt syndication, capital markets, and credit documentation processes.
- Prior experience working with institutional investors and lender groups.
