A profitable, well-funded fintech is hiring a hands-on ML leader to own fraud detection as it scales. Backed by top-tier investors, cash-flow positive, and growing fast.

This is a player-coach role. You'll build and lead a small team of data scientists while staying close to the models yourself. You own how the fraud product suite grows and how the team scales, reporting directly to the Director of Data Science. No handoff to an MLE, you drive direction.

The problem never gets "solved." Synthetic, first-party and third-party fraud keep evolving, so the work stays genuinely hard and high-impact, with projects regularly seen by senior leadership.

• What you'll do
• • Lead and grow a team of data scientists (from 2–3 toward 5–6)
• • Build and ship fraud and identity-risk models end-to-end: feature engineering, training, deployment, monitoring
• • Set technical direction and raise the bar across the team
• • Partner with product and engineering to turn insights into real-time decisions

• What we're looking for
• • 7–15 years in applied ML / data science, building production models
• • 3+ years directly managing a data science team
• • Domain experience in fraud, identity, or financial risk
• • Strong, hands-on Python and end-to-end ML
• • Startup experience and a track record of scaling a suite of models
