- Shift Structure: First Shift | Type 1 Shift (Standard Daytime Business Hours / 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), Monday through Friday

- Job Description: Our client is a global pioneer in next-generation NAND flash memory and enterprise solid-state storage solutions, is seeking a hands-on Hardware Engineering Technician I to join their Data Center Engineering (DCE) team in Rancho Cordova, CA. In this lab-based hardware role, you will work closely with hardware design and validation engineers to execute board-level debug, fine-pitch component rework on printed circuit boards (PCBs), electrical signal measurements, and test setup configurations for enterprise Solid State Drives (SSDs). You will operate high-precision lab instruments (oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, power supplies), configure Windows/Linux host test platforms, and maintain hardware lab inventory and calibration schedules.
- Key Responsibilities:
- PCB Component Rework & Soldering: Perform surface-mount and fine-pitch component soldering, desoldering, jumper wire modifications, and PCB rework to support prototype engineering builds.
- Hardware Debug & Signal Measurements: Assist hardware engineers in debugging electrical circuits and taking precise signal integrity, voltage, and power measurements on enterprise SSDs.
- Test Bench & Host Setup: Assemble, wire, and configure hardware test benches; set up host test systems running both Windows and Linux operating environments.
- Electrical Validation Execution: Follow standard operating test procedures to execute functional electrical validation, capturing and logging measurement data accurately.
- Lab Equipment & Calibration Management: Operate and maintain lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, programmable power supplies) and ensure all equipment maintains current calibration status.
- Lab Inventory & Asset Tracking: Manage hardware lab inventory, organize prototype storage, and log asset movements within the Data Center Engineering lab.
- Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience Level: 2+ years of hands-on experience in electronics hardware testing, PCB rework, or lab technician support (can be a combination of industry experience, academic coursework, and lab/internship projects).
- PCB Rework Aptitude: Demonstrated practical skill in PCB component soldering, desoldering, surface-mount rework, and board modifications.
- Hardware Debug & Test Equipment: Proven experience utilizing electronic test bench instruments including Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters (DMM), Logic Analyzers, and Power Supplies.
- Host OS & Test Setup: Familiarity with setting up and navigating Windows and Linux host operating systems for test execution.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent military/trade school training).
- Stand-Out Skills (Preferred):
- Prior experience testing or debugging Solid State Drives (SSDs), PCIe/NVMe interfaces, or NAND flash hardware.
- IPC soldering certification (e.g., IPC-A-610 or IPC J-STD-001).
- Experience working inside a high-tech data center hardware or semiconductor test laboratory.
- Basic understanding of schematic review and circuit layout tools.
