Our client seeks a mid-level Cloud Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on AWS and Databricks. The role requires hands-on engineering, sound cloud architecture knowledge, and collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical outcomes. The ideal candidate brings experience across AWS services, Databricks, Terraform, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and data engineering best practices, with exposure to Teradata, Informatica, and AI/ML concepts preferred. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty are highly valued.

Rate: $55.00 to $60.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support cloud-based data platforms and solutions using AWS and Databricks.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and integrations.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Develop and optimize SQL and Python applications, scripts, and data processing jobs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define scalable solutions.
- Support architecture reviews, best practices, governance, and security standards.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and data workloads.
- Participate in technical design sessions and contribute to long-term cloud strategy.
Experience Requirements
- Proficiency with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, and IAM.
- Hands-on Databricks, SQL, and Python for data engineering.
- Data pipeline development, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
- Understanding of cloud-native architectures, scalability, resiliency, security, and cost optimization.
- Experience designing enterprise cloud solutions.
- Preferred: Teradata, Informatica, AI/ML or Generative AI exposure, data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Soft skills: clear communication, stakeholder management, leading requirements sessions, business-to-technical translation, analytical problem solving, and independent work in a collaborative environment.
- Certifications strongly preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and/or AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty; Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate is a plus.
Education Requirements
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
