GCP Data Engineer / Forward Deployment Engineer

The team’s primary objective is to successfully migrate the WFM ecosystem from Palantir Foundry into Google Cloud Platform while preserving business functionality, data integrity, and operational continuity.
The FDE team will be responsible for:
Reverse engineering existing Palantir-enabled workflows.
Designing and building future-state GCP solutions.
Developing and optimizing data pipelines.
Supporting application modernization activities.
Accelerating delivery through AI-enabled development practices.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The Forward Deployed Engineer serves as a hybrid Data Engineer, Software Engineer, and Client-Facing Technical Consultant.
Daily responsibilities include:
Partnering with stakeholders to understand business processes supporting Weekly Forecast Manager applications.
Analyzing existing Palantir architecture and translating business functionality into GCP-native solutions.
Designing and developing scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud technologies.
Leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and reduce manual engineering effort.
Collaborating closely with Lead FDEs, Architects, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.
Participating in architecture reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical design discussions.
Supporting testing, release planning, and production readiness activities.
Contributing to documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational handoff efforts.
Working in highly collaborative cross-functional teams under aggressive delivery timelines.
Demonstrating strong ownership, accountability, and customer-facing communication skills.

Preferred Experience
Previous Palantir Foundry experience.
Experience decommissioning or replacing Palantir solutions.
Experience migrating applications from Palantir to GCP.
Supply chain, logistics, forecasting, transportation, or operations domain experience.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale modernization initiatives.
