About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Data Analyst to join our team and contribute to the strategic management of IT Product Construction projects. This role involves tracking, analyzing, and reporting on project performance to support effective decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, advanced Excel skills, and experience in data analysis within a project management office (PMO) setting. The analyst will collaborate closely with project managers, stakeholders, and executive leadership to develop insightful dashboards, reports, and presentations that promote transparency and project success. This position is a full-time, onsite role based in Miramar, Florida, and is a contract employment opportunity with CAI. Due to legal and contractual requirements, this role does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. They should bring at least five years of experience in financial management, including forecasting, budgeting, and month-end closing activities. Demonstrated expertise in advanced Excel functions such as power-pivots, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas is essential. Additionally, the candidate should have a minimum of five years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a PMO or project environment, and proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, including executives. Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, or Trello, and familiarity with SQL is highly desirable. Candidates should also possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze financial data, including spend curves and burn-rate analysis.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze data from multiple project management systems to monitor project performance against KPIs, budgets, and timelines, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and distribute comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate project performance insights to stakeholders at all levels.
- Identify trends, patterns, and potential issues through data analysis and recommend corrective actions to optimize project outcomes.
- Collaborate with project teams to improve data collection processes and reporting methodologies, supporting the implementation of new tools and reports.
- Assist in maintaining project documentation, data standards, and best practices to ensure consistency across the organization.
- Support risk management efforts by analyzing project data to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Communicate complex data insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders, including executive leadership, to inform strategic decisions.
- Manage budget responsibilities for assigned projects, working closely with project managers to oversee internal labor costs and ensure compliance with accounting rules related to expenses and capital activities.
