About The Role
The Financial Analyst supporting Supply Chain and Finance functions at Rise Baking Company will play a pivotal role in guiding strategic decision-making related to freight, outside warehousing, inventory management, and capital projects. This position involves providing comprehensive financial analysis, developing forecasting models, and delivering insightful reports that influence operational efficiencies and financial performance. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Operations, and senior leadership, to ensure accurate financial planning, risk assessment, and cost management. Leveraging advanced analytics and AI-driven tools, the Financial Analyst will contribute to streamlining reporting processes and enhancing the quality of management presentations, ultimately supporting the company's mission to deliver high-quality baked goods efficiently and sustainably.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; an MBA or CPA designation is preferred. A minimum of four years of experience in financial analysis or accounting is required, ideally within manufacturing, supply chain, or distribution industries. Experience with standard costing, purchase price variance (PPV), and relational database tools such as SAP, SAP Business Warehouse, or other BI platforms is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced modeling and pivot tables, as well as the ability to create compelling PowerPoint presentations for executive audiences. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with strong problem-solving instincts, organizational capabilities, and the ability to work effectively across functions and management levels. Adaptability to fast-paced, complex environments and a self-motivated, goal-oriented mindset are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting various financial aspects of the supply chain and operational projects, including:
- Providing financial support and analysis for freight, outside warehousing, inventory, and capital projects.
- Managing the monthly accrual process aligned with the company’s close calendar.
- Supporting recurring business reviews and ensuring accurate financial reporting across key areas.
- Partnering with business leaders during the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes to develop financial plans, analyze variances, and identify risks and opportunities.
- Assisting with the external audit process by preparing schedules, documentation, and coordinating with auditors.
- Developing and maintaining forecasting, trending, and what-if analysis models; enhancing existing reporting tools and creating new ones.
- Preparing polished financial reports and presentations for executive management and business reviews.
- Providing insightful commentary on financial performance, flagging issues early, and staying close to business operations.
- Building and nurturing relationships across Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance teams.
- Supporting M&A activities and ERP system implementations as required.
- Leveraging AI-driven solutions to optimize financial reporting, streamline analysis, and improve management presentations.
- Participating in broader Supply Chain Finance projects and initiatives.
- Supporting food safety, quality standards, and legal compliance related to manufactured products.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned to support company objectives.
