Smart Structures [Home Main - Smart Structures] — one of our Smart Infrastructure Group companies [Smart Infrastructure Group]— is seeking a skilled Field Data Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and data management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing a Data Management System, developing, managing, and optimizing data. This role requires extensive experience in construction data management processes, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The Field Data Manager is responsible for overseeing a Data Management System. The Field Data Manager must be fully engaged with the construction process and physically present at the construction site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the population, maintenance, and operation of the Data Management System.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, other roles to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity.
  • Facilitate both automated and manual input of data into the Database system.
  • Manage and maintain databases, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and validation to prepare datasets for analysis.
  • Ensure efficient data flow from the site to the database to end users by coordinating with all other data management personnel.
  • Manage the automated and manual transfer of database CSVs, flat files, raw data, and other documents to destination
  • Develop and implement processes for quality control review of data entered
  • Establish and execute backup processes for data as outlined in this specification.
  • Participate in all data-related meetings and represent the contractor in all data matters when requested by the stakeholder.
  • Author and compile the Data Management Plan.
  • Collaborate with the Data Management Officer to develop and integrate workflows for incorporating quality control data into the data management system.
  • Perform all other data management tasks not specifically assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Field Data Manager in the civil engineering domain.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing the import, cleaning, verification, processing, storage, backup, and transfer of construction data.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and utilizing a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL.
