Fiber Project Manager (Data Center)

Fiber Project Manager – Hyperscale Data Center | Near Chicago, Illinois

I’m partnered with a General Contractor delivering a major hyperscale data center project. They’re looking for a Fiber Project Manager to lead the fiber and structured cabling package from preconstruction through installation, testing and final turnover.

• Key Details
• Direct Hire | Near Chicago
• Total package up to and around $300,000
• Two return flights home per month (9 days onsite, Friday home/remote, returning Monday)
• Must have data center experience

• Key Responsibilities
• Lead OSP and ISP fiber delivery across the project
• Manage structured cabling, fiber backbone, splicing, terminations and testing
• Coordinate fiber subcontractors, vendors, schedule, budget, procurement and quality
• Oversee MDF/IDF/MMR connectivity, pathways and building-entry fiber
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists and closeout
• Drive delivery against schedule and turnover milestones

• Ideal Background
• Strong hyperscale or mission-critical data center experience
• Proven project-management experience across fiber or structured cabling packages
• Experience with OSP, ISP, splicing, terminations, testing and backbone infrastructure
• Strong subcontractor, vendor, budget and schedule management experience
• Background with a GC, low-voltage contractor or fiber/technology infrastructure provider preferred
