About the role:
- We are looking for a Director – Microsoft Fabric & Data Platform with 15+ years of experience to lead the strategy, engineering, and productionization of an enterprise Microsoft Fabric platform.
- The individual will lead a team of approximately 10 data and platform engineers and will be accountable for both platform strategy and execution. The ideal candidate combines deep Microsoft Fabric expertise, strong platform engineering experience, people leadership, and a proven track record of operating enterprise-scale data platforms.
- Key Responsibilities
- Own the Microsoft Fabric platform strategy, roadmap, architecture, and operating model.
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 data and platform engineers, including delivery, mentoring, performance management, and technical oversight.
- Define enterprise standards for Fabric workspaces, OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Spark, semantic models, security, and capacity management.
- Lead the design and productionization of scalable data pipelines and Bronze/Silver/Gold architectures.
- Establish production-grade standards for data quality, monitoring, lineage, resiliency, performance, and support.
- Define and implement CI/CD, Git integration, environment promotion, and DevOps practices for Fabric.
- Drive platform governance, security, automation, capacity optimization, and integration with the broader Azure ecosystem.
- Develop reusable platform capabilities and engineering standards that can scale across multiple teams and use cases.
- Partner with architecture, security, governance, analytics, AI, and business teams to align the platform with enterprise priorities.
- Provide senior technical leadership and resolve complex platform, architecture, and production issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience across data platforms, data engineering, cloud platforms, analytics, or related technology roles.
- Proven experience leading data engineering or platform teams of 8–15+ people.
- Strong experience defining enterprise platform strategy, target-state architecture, roadmaps, and operating models.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Spark, SQL, Python/PySpark, and Power BI/Semantic Models.
- Strong experience building and productionizing enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD, security, identity, networking, monitoring, and governance.
- Experience with capacity planning, performance optimization, platform reliability, production support, and cost management.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as both a senior technology leader and technically credible platform expert.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence architecture, engineering, and technology leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Asset Management, Wealth Management, Banking, Insurance, or broader Financial Services.
- Familiarity with investment or financial-services data domains such as portfolios, securities, transactions, market data, performance, AUM, clients, or funds.
- Microsoft Fabric certifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview and enterprise data governance.
- Experience migrating from Synapse, Databricks, or traditional data platforms to Fabric.
- Experience enabling analytics, AI/GenAI, and enterprise reporting use cases.
