- Job Overview
- We are looking for an Engineering Analyst II – Data Governance to support data governance and engineering drawing migration initiatives within the Data and Systems Strategy team.
- This role will focus on ensuring engineering and asset information is accurate, organized, properly classified, and easy to access. You will work with Engineering, Operations, Asset Information Management, Drafting, and external service providers to improve data quality and information management processes.
- Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, validation, and reporting of large-scale engineering drawing migration projects.
- Review and profile engineering data and drawing repositories to identify metadata, hierarchy, classification, and data-quality gaps.
- Perform data cleansing, remediation, and correction activities.
- Identify missing information, duplicates, inconsistencies, and classification issues.
- Support data migration testing and validation to ensure information is accurate and searchable.
- Work with Engineering, Operations, Drafting, and Asset Information Management teams to resolve data and mapping issues.
- Support improvements to asset information turnover and data governance processes.
- Prepare reports and track migration progress and data quality.
- Communicate technical data issues and requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with data governance, metadata, data profiling, data mapping, data cleansing, or data remediation.
- Energy, oil & gas, pipeline, utilities, or other asset-intensive industry experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and external service providers.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with pipeline asset management systems, GIS, or engineering document/data management systems.
- Experience with SharePoint and PowerApps.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM).
- Experience working with engineering drawings, asset information, or engineering data migration.
- Understanding of data hierarchy, metadata, classification, and data-quality concepts.
