The Product Data Specialist I will be responsible for creating and managing product data across a broad array of products to ensure accuracy and high quality. As a team member, the Product Data Specialist I will be responsible for maintaining data quality, compliance, and consistency, follow operating procedures, support business unit requests, and research/resolve issues around product data. The Product Data Specialist I will require communication with branch, corporate personal, and the vendor community. Success will depend on having a “customer first” attitude, superior accuracy, a willingness to learn new functions, and positively contribute to team performance.

- Process product requests and overall data management in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring policies, procedures, and service level agreements (SLAs) are followed.
- Develop and refine content for complex product lines
- Research, analyze, and update product specification data for tens of thousands of products
- Contribute to developing and enforcing workflows to meet best business practices.
- Assist in the development of forms, procedures, and work instructions
- Identify data quality or process improvement opportunities
- Provide monthly process overview reporting for all levels of the department and report on potential category improvements
- Establish rapport with branches and other Patterson teams, build effective relationships, and share wins and successes
- Use knowledge of Excel to analyze and combine data from multiple data systems
- Analyze content for inconsistency/errors, correct data, and execute import changes into database
- Review team members’ work and provide improvement direction
- Support decisions that affect the function and performance for company-wide shared database system, as well as troubleshoot issues that arise
- Performs other duties as assigned
Material Master Data Specific Functions
Execute changes to SAP master data (e.g. customer, vendor, materials etc.) as approved by the business ensuring data requests are complete and comply with standards
Ecommerce Merchandising Specific Functions
- Solid understanding of accurate writing for utilization in development of search engine optimized (SEO) copy for web-based environments
- Support printed promotion data while verifying accuracy of product display and data
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- College level degree and/or technical school training
- At least 1-3 years of proven database experience
- General knowledge in Excel, Access, or other data applications involving techniques in handling large, complex data
- Proven background in research and content creation
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and written skills
- Excellent customer service experience, and demonstrated diplomacy to assist other departments as necessary
- Must be able to juggle several activities and projects simultaneously and set appropriate priorities for self
- Top-notch analytical and problem-solving skills
- Keen editorial skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make the complex succinct and simple; clarity of thought is extremely valued
- Always demonstrates a commitment to Patterson’s values and professionalism through appropriate conduct
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with B2B and/or healthcare experience a plus
- Experience with Informatica’s PIM solution, Product 360 (P360)
Preferred Qualifications (Material Master Data)
- Experience with dental merchandise, equipment, or parts products
- 1-3 years of SAP database experience
Preferred Qualifications (Ecommerce Merchandising)
- Experience with dental, veterinary, or animal health merchandise products
- 1-3 years of search engine optimization (SEO) related experience
- 1-3 years of printed publication experience
The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $18.85 - $24.49
