Director of Data Science | AI, Search & Personalization at Scale

A venture-backed consumer technology company that has rapidly scaled to millions of customers is hiring a Director of Data Science to lead the team responsible for how customers discover, search for, and engage with products across its digital storefront.

This is a highly visible leadership role at the intersection of machine learning, applied AI, product strategy, and business growth. You'll own the vision and roadmap across recommendations, personalization, search, ranking, retrieval, and emerging AI-powered shopping experiences, helping shape how millions of customers discover and interact with products.

Beyond the technical scope, you'll build and scale a high-performing Data Science organization, partnering closely with Product and Engineering leaders to define strategy, develop talent, establish experimentation and modeling best practices, and drive measurable impact across conversion, engagement, and retention.

The team is excited to speak with experienced Data Science leaders who have built and deployed machine learning systems at scale, led high-performing teams, and are excited by the opportunity to apply modern AI techniques, including LLMs, to customer-facing products. Experience with search, recommendations, personalization, e-commerce, marketplaces, or adjacent domains could all be highly relevant.
