Montcure, LLC is an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) delivering federal financial management, audit readiness, risk management and internal control, IT, cybersecurity, and data analytics support to Department of Defense and federal civilian agencies. We help agencies strengthen governance, sustain regulatory compliance, and translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insight for mission-critical decisions.
About the Role
The Data Technician I performs the high-volume routine data work supporting the Defense Health Agency Disability Evaluation System (DES) program — extract preparation, list cleaning and deduplication, deliverability correction, error register data entry, separation-date verification support, and report assembly and formatting — executed against written standard operating procedures so that analyst hours remain available for analysis.
What You'll Do
Prepare data extracts from designated source systems following documented procedures, recording the pull date and parameters.
Clean and deduplicate lists, applying written rules for matching, merging, and exclusion.
Research and correct undeliverable contact records and return findings to the error register.
Enter items into the error register accurately and completely, including control number, source, and status.
Support separation-date verification by pulling and comparing records against personnel sources and flagging discrepancies.
Assemble and format recurring reports to the established template so products reach review ready for content checking rather than cleanup.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree.
Equivalent combination of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience
Entry-level position; no minimum years of experience required.
Experience with data entry into a tracking log, register, or database.
Experience preparing distribution or contact lists and correcting undeliverable records is beneficial.
Experience assembling and formatting recurring reports is beneficial.
Prior federal or Department of Defense program support experience is beneficial.
Technical Skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and deduplication.
Microsoft Access is beneficial.
Soft Skills
Demonstrated accuracy on high-volume repetitive work performed against written procedure.
Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Ability to follow written standard operating procedures without deviation.
Willingness to escalate discrepancies rather than resolve them by assumption.
Status: Contingency – This position is contingent upon contract award and successful completion of a favorable Tier 1 background investigation and issuance of a Common Access Card prior to performing work.
Salary: $45,000-$60,000 (based on experience)
