  • Overview
  • We are seeking a Data Security Specialist II to join a Cybersecurity Risk, Governance, and Compliance team focused on supporting PCI compliance initiatives across a large-scale enterprise environment. This role partners closely with technology teams, system owners, auditors, and compliance stakeholders to help ensure critical payment-processing systems meet security and regulatory requirements.
  • The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with compliance expertise and is proactive in identifying risks, investigating issues, and driving remediation efforts before they become audit findings. This individual will work directly with system owners to validate controls, troubleshoot security concerns, and support successful audit outcomes.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Support enterprise PCI DSS compliance initiatives and ongoing audit readiness activities.
  • Partner with system owners to identify, investigate, and remediate security and compliance issues before external audits occur.
  • Perform security assessments, control validation, and compliance reviews across enterprise systems and applications.
  • Analyze security configurations and data from multiple technology platforms to validate controls and identify potential gaps.
  • Execute SQL queries and analyze results to support compliance reviews, investigations, and control testing.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external assessors throughout audit and compliance activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to improve security posture and regulatory compliance.
  • Review security findings and partner with technical teams to drive remediation efforts through resolution.
  • Assist in the development, enforcement, and continuous improvement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and evidence required for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Stay current on emerging security risks, technologies, and PCI DSS requirements.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 3-5 years of IT experience with at least 3 years supporting information security, risk, compliance, governance, or audit functions.
  • Experience supporting PCI DSS compliance initiatives, audits, assessments, or control validation activities.
  • Ability to read, write, and utilize SQL to analyze data and support compliance or security investigations.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and evaluating security controls.
  • Understanding of enterprise technology environments, infrastructure, applications, and security principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience communicating findings, recommendations, and remediation plans to diverse audiences.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • IT audit, cybersecurity audit, or compliance assessment experience.
  • Experience supporting payment-processing environments.
  • Knowledge of security governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with security tools such as CrowdStrike, Qualys, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, or related security frameworks.
  • Experience working in large enterprise environments with multiple systems and stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications such as:
  • CISA
  • PCI Professional (PCIP)
  • PCI ISA
  • Other relevant security or compliance certifications
