About The Role

We are seeking a versatile Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a hybrid work schedule, ideal for candidates currently residing in the Pittsburgh area. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, alongside delivering advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and actionable business insights. The successful candidate will work extensively within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, leveraging its integrated tools to unify data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to enterprise data modernization projects, support AI-driven initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business needs into impactful technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or similar roles.
• Strong proficiency with Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and dashboard development.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric platforms.
• Proficiency in Python for analytics, data manipulation, and machine learning tasks.
• Experience working with large enterprise datasets and complex data environments.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Microsoft Fabric services such as Lakehouse, Spark, Data Factory, and semantic models, as well as knowledge of AI/ML concepts, pricing analytics, supply chain analytics, and event streaming technologies. Certifications in Azure, Power BI, Fabric, or Data Engineering are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and analytical solutions in Power BI, including semantic models, paginated reports, and executive scorecards.
• Implement KPI-driven dashboards for various business domains such as pricing analytics, sales trends, inventory management, and operational performance.
• Enable self-service analytics through governed semantic models, curated datasets, and reusable reporting assets, supporting enterprise-wide data democratization.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive models for dynamic pricing, sales forecasting, demand planning, customer segmentation, and inventory replenishment using machine learning and AI techniques.
• Apply Python, Spark notebooks, and Azure AI / OpenAI capabilities within Fabric to support AI-driven analytics initiatives such as conversational BI, sentiment analysis, and speech-to-text analytics.
• Support data ingestion and transformation from various sources including Oracle, SQL Server, APIs, SaaS platforms, and event streaming platforms like Kafka and Event Hub.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Pricing, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions.
• Contribute to enterprise data modernization efforts and support cloud transformation initiatives, ensuring best practices in data governance and security.
