About The Role
The Strategic Data Scientist at CoverMyMeds plays a crucial role in driving the company's success through advanced data analytics and strategic insights. This position involves analyzing large datasets to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and provide actionable recommendations that support business growth and customer satisfaction. The role requires collaboration with various internal teams, including client services, product, and operations, to ensure data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will turn complex data into clear, compelling stories that demonstrate the value of our solutions to clients and internal stakeholders. Emphasis is placed on prioritizing high-impact work that directly influences commercial outcomes, enhancing product value, and optimizing analytical processes. This role also involves developing expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, understanding client needs, and supporting strategic initiatives with data insights. The position is ideally suited for candidates residing in the Columbus, OH metropolitan area, given the proximity to our operations.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, business, public health, or a related field; healthcare experience strongly preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in an analytics role within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of data science methodologies including decision trees, multivariate analysis, segmentation modeling, factor analysis, regression analysis, forecasting, and machine learning.
- Experience with statistical software such as Python, R, MATLAB, SAS, etc.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in data visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly interpret complex data issues.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present insights and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Self-motivated and driven team player capable of managing competing priorities.
- Experience with data mining, analysis, and deriving strategic insights.
Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with client service teams and external clients by demonstrating data-driven value propositions.
- Deliver proactive analyses of portfolio performance, customer needs, and market dynamics, including industry events.
- Apply advanced statistical methods and predictive modeling techniques to analyze product data, identify key drivers, and forecast outcomes.
- Monitor portfolio health, provide regular stakeholder updates, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Create clear, concise visualizations and reports to communicate insights and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Identify opportunities to enhance product value and improve analytical efficiency across projects.
- Support complex client requests and issue escalations in collaboration with account teams.
- Contribute insights that influence strategic decisions related to market positioning, product development, and operational improvements.
- Develop and maintain expertise in CoverMyMeds solutions, the pharmaceutical industry, and relevant business contexts.
