About The Role
The Strategic Data Scientist at CoverMyMeds plays a crucial role in driving the company's success through advanced analytics and data insights. This position focuses on refining value propositions and supporting key customer teams by leveraging a vast store of live data to generate actionable insights. The ideal candidate will prioritize high-impact, client-focused work that directly influences commercial outcomes and enhances customer satisfaction.
This role involves extensive collaboration across various business units and external client channels, supporting strategic initiatives and operational improvements. The Strategic Data Scientist will utilize statistical methods, predictive modeling, and data visualization techniques to analyze product data, identify key drivers, forecast outcomes, and monitor portfolio health. The role requires a curious mindset, adaptability to changing environments, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling stories that demonstrate product value and inform decision-making.
Key responsibilities include building trusted relationships with customer success teams and external clients, delivering proactive analyses of portfolio performance, supporting complex client requests, and identifying opportunities for analytical and product enhancements. The role also involves developing expertise in the pharmaceutical industry and understanding the business context of supported accounts to provide relevant insights that support strategic and tactical decisions.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, business, public health, or a related field; healthcare experience strongly preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in an analytics role within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
- Understanding of data science methodologies including decision trees, multivariate analysis, segmentation modeling, factor analysis, regression analysis, forecasting, and machine learning.
- Experience or proficiency with statistical software such as Python, R, MATLAB, SAS, etc.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in SQL for data querying and management.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly interpret complex data issues.
- Excellent communication skills to present insights clearly and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Self-motivated team player capable of working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with customer success teams and external clients by demonstrating the value of CoverMyMeds products through data storytelling.
- Deliver proactive analyses on portfolio performance, customer needs, and market trends, including industry and competitive insights.
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze product data, identify key drivers, and forecast outcomes.
- Monitor portfolio health, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Create clear, concise visualizations and reports to communicate insights and recommendations effectively.
- Identify opportunities to enhance product value and analytical efficiency through process improvements and innovative approaches.
- Support complex client requests and issue escalations in collaboration with account teams.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making processes related to product development, market positioning, and operational improvements.
- Develop and deepen expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare analytics, and the specific business contexts of supported accounts.
