About The Role

Reddit’s Ads Data Science team is seeking a highly experienced Staff Data Scientist to lead the development and enhancement of the advertiser experience on Reddit. In this strategic role, you will take ownership of high-impact problem spaces within advertising, focusing on measurement, identity resolution, and signal quality. Your contributions will influence the strategic direction of Reddit’s advertising products, setting high technical standards and driving cross-functional initiatives. You will work closely with engineering, product, and sales teams to translate data-driven insights into actionable strategies, ultimately helping Reddit build a highly differentiated and effective advertising ecosystem that leverages the platform’s passionate communities.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research
• For M.S. degree holders: 10+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles
• For Ph.D. degree holders: 6+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles
• Deep understanding of the advertising ecosystem and digital marketing strategies
• Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
• Measurement & Experimentation at Scale (lift and attribution)
• Identity Graph Creation & Resolution Methodology and Infrastructure
• Predictive Modeling with Signal Loss
• Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python or R, and SQL
• Experience with machine learning techniques, optimization, and causal inference methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex insights effectively
• Proven track record of influencing product and engineering teams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
• Responsibilities

• Design and develop probabilistic models for identity resolution, linking on-platform and off-platform actions while respecting user privacy
• Lead the development of lift methodologies and experimentation frameworks, ensuring statistical rigor and supporting large-scale testing for advertisers
• Identify and strategize new signal sources, quantifying their value and integrating them into predictive models to enhance bidding efficiency and return on ad spend
• Define ground truth and evaluation frameworks to validate identity and measurement accuracy, designing objective functions and truth sets for model training
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and sales teams to align on strategic goals, translate insights into actionable initiatives, and drive execution
• Mentor junior team members, set high technical standards, and champion best practices in modeling, experimentation, and measurement
