• About the Opportunity
• Mercor is building a network of experienced Data Scientists for future projects with leading AI research organizations. These projects will focus on evaluating how effectively AI systems perform real-world data science work, including statistical analysis, machine learning, experimentation, and technical decision-making.
• While there is no immediate project opening, qualified candidates may be contacted as relevant opportunities become available.
• Ideal Candidates
• • 1+ years of professional experience in Data Science
• • Experience at a leading technology company, research organization, quantitative firm, AI lab, or equivalent environment
• • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation methodologies
• • Experience working with large, complex datasets and translating data into actionable insights
• • Excellent written communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• • Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• • Comfortable receiving feedback and calibrating evaluations against established standards
• Key Responsibilities
• • Design task-specific evaluation criteria for data science deliverables and workflows
• • Review and assess exploratory data analyses, machine learning models, feature engineering solutions, and technical reports
• • Evaluate AI-generated and human-created work against predefined quality standards
• • Provide detailed written justifications for scores and evaluations
• • Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment to ensure evaluations are reproducible and defensible
• • Incorporate reviewer feedback and refine evaluations as needed
