Company Description PPLIED is a hands-free hiring platform designed to serve both recruiters and job seekers by automating the matching process. Recruiters post a role once and receive a daily shortlist of top-matched candidates without using job boards, manual searching, or paying fees. Job seekers upload a resume once and are automatically matched and applied to real roles, receiving direct messages from interested recruiters without applications or cover letters. The platform aims to simplify hiring and job searching with a free, streamlined experience for both sides of the job market.

- Role Description As a Data Scientist at PPLIED, you will work remotely in a full-time capacity to improve and scale the platform’s matching algorithms and data-driven features. You will collect, process, and analyze large datasets related to recruiter behavior, candidate profiles, and role performance, and use these insights to refine recommendation and ranking models. You will design and implement statistical and machine learning models, conduct experiments, and evaluate model performance to enhance accuracy and fairness. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions, build dashboards and visualizations, and communicate findings in a clear, actionable way. You will also contribute to data quality initiatives, documentation, and best practices to support reliable and ethical use of data across the organization.
- Qualifications
- Strong skills in Data Science and Data Analytics, with experience applying these to real-world product or business problems.
- Solid foundation in Statistics and Data Analysis to design experiments, interpret results, and support evidence-based decisions.
- Proficiency in Data Visualization tools and methods to present complex insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with programming languages commonly used in data science (e.g., Python or R) and libraries for modeling and analysis.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques, model evaluation, and deployment in production environments.
- Comfort working with relational and non-relational databases, as well as querying and transforming data at scale.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional team environment.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
