About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team for the upcoming Technical Project Support Services (TPSS) contract based in Patuxent, MD. The Senior Data Scientist will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into strategic insights that support warfighter operations and enhance system performance. This position involves leading advanced data analytics initiatives, utilizing cutting-edge techniques such as data mining, modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science methodologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders through complex data-driven insights.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in data science or a related field. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred; however, a bachelor’s degree combined with four (4) additional years of experience may be considered as a substitute. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) at an intermediate to advanced level is required. Exceptional communication skills are essential to effectively convey complex findings to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team are critical. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting 15 to 25 pounds, standing, walking for extended periods, and performing periodic twisting, bending, and squatting. A security clearance at the Secret level is mandatory, and U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain this clearance.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Scientist will oversee the application of advanced analytical techniques to large datasets, both structured and unstructured. Responsibilities include designing and implementing data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning algorithms to extract meaningful insights. The role involves guiding the visualization, interpretation, and reporting of analytical results to ensure clarity and actionable understanding for stakeholders. The Senior Data Scientist will also be responsible for creating dynamic data reports that support strategic decision-making processes. Additionally, the role entails mentoring junior staff and collaborating with senior team members to apply innovative analytical methodologies that enhance project outcomes. Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with applicable standards is also a key aspect of this position.
