About The Role

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist (DS-II) to join our Data Science, Client Analysis team. This remote position based in the USA offers an exciting opportunity for a data-driven professional to develop algorithms and analyze large-scale datasets to craft compelling data stories. The role involves collaborating closely with the go-to-market teams to drive revenue growth by demonstrating the value of Socure's products through deep analytical insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, helping clients understand how Socure’s solutions can eliminate identity fraud, optimize risk management, and improve user experiences. This position provides a unique blend of technical analysis, strategic influence, and client engagement, with attractive incentives tied to performance and impact.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data science, data analysis, or analytics engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques and their practical applications.
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience in data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, H2O, and SHAP.
  • Experience querying relational databases using SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Databricks, or GCP.
  • Ability to craft compelling data stories through dashboards, interactive reports, and presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex algorithms to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in identity verification, fraud prevention, or related fields is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of data processing tools such as Apache Spark, Databricks, and Amazon EMR.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline automation tools like Airflow, and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large customer datasets to derive actionable insights and improve risk management strategies.
  • Develop and refine machine learning models to support Socure’s fraud detection and identity verification solutions.
  • Act as a scientific advocate by understanding Socure’s products, models, and algorithms, and educating clients on their benefits.
  • Create compelling data stories and visualizations to demonstrate how Socure’s solutions can eliminate identity fraud and enhance customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with the go-to-market teams, including Sales and Solution Consultants, to identify opportunities for upselling and product optimization.
  • Build and automate workflows to enhance the speed, accuracy, and reproducibility of data analyses.
  • Contribute thought leadership to the development of next-generation models and products based on customer needs and industry trends.
  • Evaluate model performance through backtesting, threshold tuning, and ongoing monitoring to ensure robustness and reliability.
  • Support the creation of tools and processes that streamline analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
