About The Role
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Scientist specializing in Supply Chain to join its dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in accelerating OCI’s digital transformation initiatives within its global supply chain operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Data Automation, Supply Chain, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced data platforms, AI-enabled automation solutions, predictive analytics, and operational intelligence tools. Your expertise will enable OCI to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and decision-making capabilities across its expansive supply chain network. As a senior individual contributor, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Logistics, Capacity Planning, Data Center Operations, and Engineering—to develop intelligent automation systems, operational dashboards, machine learning models, and data products. Your work will directly influence strategic initiatives, improve operational visibility, and foster a data-driven culture within OCI’s supply chain organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background complemented by extensive hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and data engineering. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, with advanced degrees preferred. Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with experience in designing scalable data pipelines, analytics platforms, and automation frameworks. Familiarity with cloud technologies, Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, and supply chain management concepts is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to influence stakeholders, and a passion for continuous innovation and improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data automation solutions supporting OCI's global supply chain operations.
- Develop AI and machine learning models to enhance forecasting accuracy, optimize inventory levels, improve supply planning, and streamline logistics execution.
- Identify manual processes suitable for automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent workflows to increase operational efficiency.
- Create reusable automation frameworks and data products that support business scalability and agility.
- Evaluate emerging AI and automation technologies, recommending practical applications to address supply chain challenges.
- Design and develop robust data pipelines, models, and architectures supporting real-time reporting and advanced analytics.
- Build scalable datasets for forecasting, planning, inventory management, and supplier performance analysis.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and accessibility across multiple enterprise systems, including Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and self-service analytics to improve visibility into supply chain performance metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data across cloud platforms and operational systems.
- Create operational dashboards, KPI frameworks, and control tower capabilities providing end-to-end supply chain visibility.
- Develop proactive alerting mechanisms to identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and exceptions.
- Build predictive models for scenario planning, capacity management, and deployment readiness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Supply Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Data Center Operations to understand business needs and develop technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise for automation initiatives and enterprise data projects.
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality, automation, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Document technical designs, data models, and automation solutions to ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Stay current on emerging technologies in AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and data engineering to foster innovation.
