About The Role

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Scientist specializing in Supply Chain to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in accelerating OCI’s digital transformation initiatives within its global supply chain operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Data Automation, Supply Chain, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced data platforms, AI-enabled automation, predictive analytics, and operational intelligence solutions. The primary objective is to enhance efficiency, scalability, and decision-making capabilities across OCI’s expanding supply chain ecosystem.

As a senior individual contributor, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Logistics, Capacity Planning, Data Center Operations, and Engineering. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating intelligent automation workflows, operational dashboards, machine learning models, and data products that facilitate proactive management and strategic planning of supply chain activities. This role demands a blend of technical prowess, business acumen, and strong stakeholder influence to deliver impactful data-driven solutions that drive operational excellence and innovation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background combined with extensive practical experience in data science, machine learning, and data engineering. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, analytics platforms, and automation solutions. Candidates should demonstrate experience in delivering data products and dashboards that support complex business operations, particularly within supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or procurement domains. Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT frameworks, cloud-based data platforms, and visualization tools is essential. Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications and supply chain concepts such as forecasting, inventory management, and logistics will be advantageous.

Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields, aligned with the specified years of professional experience. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills are critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data automation solutions supporting OCI’s global supply chain operations.
  • Develop AI and machine learning models to enhance forecasting accuracy, inventory optimization, supply planning, logistics execution, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Identify manual processes ripe for automation through predictive analytics and intelligent workflows, improving operational efficiency.
  • Create reusable automation frameworks and data products that support business scalability and operational agility.
  • Evaluate emerging AI and automation technologies, recommending practical applications to enhance supply chain functions.
  • Design and develop robust data pipelines, models, and architectures for real-time reporting and advanced analytics.
  • Build scalable datasets supporting forecasting, planning, inventory management, and supplier performance analysis.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and accessibility across multiple enterprise systems.
  • Develop dashboards, scorecards, and self-service analytics tools to improve visibility and decision-making across global supply chain teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data across Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, operational systems, and cloud platforms.
  • Create operational dashboards, KPI frameworks, and control tower capabilities for end-to-end supply chain visibility.
  • Implement intelligent alerting mechanisms to proactively identify risks, exceptions, and bottlenecks.
  • Build predictive models supporting scenario planning, capacity management, and deployment readiness.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and develop scalable technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise for automation initiatives and enterprise data projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality, automation, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Document technical designs, data models, and automation solutions to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and data engineering to foster innovation.
