About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join MANTECH's dynamic team in Fort Meade, MD. This role is pivotal in driving forward the organization’s data analytics capabilities, particularly in developing and deploying cloud-based data solutions for national security applications. As a Data Scientist at MANTECH, you will work closely with subject matter experts, intelligence analysts, and customers to develop innovative analytic models, prototypes, and workflows that translate complex data into actionable insights. Your contributions will support mission-critical objectives, laying the foundation for integrating machine learning technologies into operational environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects that influence national security and technological progress.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in a quantitative or technical discipline, along with extensive professional experience. A minimum of seven years’ experience in data science, data engineering, or related roles is required, demonstrating proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, or a similar field, or alternatively, four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Practical knowledge of cloud environments, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques is highly desirable, along with familiarity with MLOps and containerization technologies. An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is mandatory to qualify for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and contribute technical expertise across multiple data science and analytic development projects within a secure cloud environment, ensuring adherence to security protocols and standards.
  • Collaborate with customers, intelligence analysts, and Subject Matter Experts to understand mission requirements and translate them into effective analytic solutions.
  • Prototype, develop, and transition data pipelines and advanced analytics into scalable, operational systems that support mission objectives.
  • Apply statistical modeling, data analysis, and graph-based approaches to analyze complex datasets, preparing workflows that facilitate future machine learning integration.
  • Manage individual analytic tasks efficiently, delivering high-quality technical work that aligns with project goals and deadlines.
  • Support the development and deployment of machine learning models, ensuring their integration into existing operational workflows.
  • Document analytic processes and findings, providing clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
