Data Platform Architect

e&e is seeking a Data Platform Architect for a hybrid contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!

We are seeking a Data Platform Architect to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and evolution of a secure, scalable enterprise data platform. This role will combine architecture strategy with hands-on engineering to build reusable cloud-based data products and shared services that support digital transformation, analytics, and AI initiatives across the enterprise.

• Key Responsibilities
• Define the target architecture and roadmap for an enterprise data platform
• Build and evolve scalable, secure cloud data platform capabilities from MVP through enterprise adoption
• Establish platform engineering standards, reusable architectural patterns, automation, and operational guardrails
• Design secure multi-tenant environments supporting multiple teams and business areas
• Develop reusable platform services and standardized onboarding patterns rather than one-off solutions
• Partner with cloud, cybersecurity, governance, integration, and data teams to implement enterprise capabilities
• Implement security controls including IAM, RBAC, encryption, and auditing
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
• Champion DevSecOps, shift-left security, API-first architecture, and product-based approaches to data sharing
• Support the development of enterprise data products and AI-ready infrastructure
• Provide technical leadership and influence across multiple teams and stakeholders

• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Programming, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• Strong hands-on experience with modern data architecture, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering
• Experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise data platforms used across multiple teams or business units
• Experience with technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, and containerized applications
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, including IAM, RBAC, encryption, auditing, and enterprise security controls
• Experience implementing modern DevSecOps practices and shift-left security principles
• Ability to develop reusable platform capabilities and architectural patterns from the ground
• up.Strong understanding of API-first architecture, enterprise integration, and modern data products
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across enterprise technology teams
