Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a technology-driven organization, is seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer. This role is responsible for migrating and modernizing production data pipelines and datasets within a new Databricks environment, executing historical backfills, and validating data quality and source-to-target parity throughout the migration.
- NO C2C or 3rd party vendors are allowed for this role.

- Job Duties
- Refactor and migrate PySpark, Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs), and dbt pipelines to a new Databricks environment
- Migrate production datasets and execute historical data backfills while maintaining accuracy and consistency
- Build and execute reconciliation frameworks covering row counts, schemas, freshness, completeness, and data quality
- Validate source-to-target data parity and investigate discrepancies between legacy and migrated environments
- Migrate dashboards and downstream reporting assets to updated datasets
- Update pipeline orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data quality issues, and migration-related discrepancies during and after cutover
- Document migrated assets, code and architectural changes, validation results, and operational requirements
- Skills & Experience
- Required
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related production data role
- Strong hands-on production experience with Databricks
- Advanced SQL and Python proficiency for scalable data pipelines and transformations
- Strong PySpark and distributed data processing experience
- Deep dbt experience including model development, testing, documentation, and CI/CD integration
- Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) or comparable deployment and infrastructure patterns
- Proven data or platform migration experience including historical backfills, source-to-target validation, reconciliation testing, and production cutovers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Desired
- Experience with Fivetran connectors and data ingestion architecture
- Experience with data contracts, schema governance, and data quality standards
- Knowledge of streaming or near-real-time data pipelines
- Experience migrating dashboards, BI assets, and downstream reporting dependencies
- Experience implementing production pipeline monitoring, alerting, and observability
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as Claude Code, Devin, or comparable platforms
