The Meta Superintelligence Labs is dedicated to developing AI-powered experiences for consumers, leveraging Meta's cutting-edge models.Meta is seeking a Data Licensing Lead for the Meta Superintelligence Labs organization. This role is critical for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of data licensing agreements that fuel MSL's frontier AI models and research initiatives. The Program Manager will partner closely with Business Development, Legal, Policy, Research, Engineering, and Finance teams to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and operationalize data licensing partnerships, ensuring MSL has access to the high-quality, diverse datasets needed to advance its mission.The candidate will demonstrate exceptional program management skills, a strong understanding of data rights and licensing frameworks, and the ability to navigate complex, cross-functional workstreams with speed and precision. This individual must be a collaborative partner who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, manage sensitive negotiations and confidential information with the highest level of discretion, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Entrepreneurial acumen and a keen understanding of the evolving AI data landscape are essential.This role is designed for a highly strategic, execution-oriented program manager who can drive data licensing operations at the pace and scale required by a world-class AI organization.This full-time position is based at our office in Menlo Park, CA.

Data Licensing Lead, Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL) Responsibilities:

  • Data Licensing Program Management: Own and drive the end-to-end data licensing pipeline for MSL, from identifying data needs and sourcing potential partners to executing agreements and operationalizing data ingestion, ensuring timely access to critical training and evaluation datasets.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership and Coordination: Serve as the central coordination point between MSL Research, Engineering, Business Development, Legal, Policy, Finance, and external data partners to align on data requirements, licensing terms, compliance obligations, and integration timelines.
  • Vendor and Partner Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with data providers, content licensors, and third-party partners, managing ongoing performance, renewals, and escalations to maximize the value of licensing investments.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Partner with Legal and Policy teams to ensure all data licensing agreements comply with applicable regulations, internal data governance standards, and responsible AI practices, including data provenance, usage rights, and ethical sourcing requirements.
  • Strategic Planning and Prioritization: Develop and maintain a comprehensive data licensing roadmap aligned to MSL's model development priorities, proactively identifying gaps, emerging data opportunities, and risks to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Executive Communications and Reporting: Prepare executive-level updates, dashboards, and briefing materials on licensing pipeline status, spend, risks, and strategic recommendations for MSL leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Process Design and Optimization: Design and continuously improve scalable processes, tools, and workflows for data licensing intake, evaluation, negotiation, and onboarding, driving operational efficiency across the program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, business development, licensing, partnerships, or a related operational role within a technology or AI-focused organization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive briefs, presentations, and recommendations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a track record of building trust and driving alignment across diverse teams and external partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the AI data ecosystem, including data marketplaces, content licensing models, synthetic data, and emerging regulatory frameworks around AI training data
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements, pipeline automation)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., data provenance reviews, bias mitigation, usage rights compliance)
  • Experience supporting or operating within a C-Suite or senior leadership environment, including navigating complex organizational dynamics and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
