- Job Summary
- We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in OpenMetadata, particularly Collate, and experience delivering multiple customer implementations. The candidate should have a strong understanding of enterprise Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Stewardship, Data Contracts, Data Products, RACI, and Ontology.
- The role involves working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical data governance solutions.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, implement, and support OpenMetadata / Collate solutions.
- Work extensively on Data Governance workflows, Metadata Management, Data Contracts, Data Products, RACI, and Ontology.
- Participate in multiple OpenMetadata / Collate customer implementations and support end-to-end delivery.
- Gather, clarify, and document requirements from business and technical stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into actionable data governance processes, workflows, and standards.
- Collaborate with Business, IT, Compliance, Data Owners, and Data Stewards across a complex matrix organization.
- Assess and improve existing Data Quality, Data Stewardship, Metadata Management, and Governance practices.
- Define and maintain practical governance templates, standards, workflows, and operating processes.
- Support implementation of data ownership, accountability, and stewardship models using RACI.
- Contribute to defining and maintaining Data Products, Data Contracts, and Ontologies.
- Perform basic SQL queries, data profiling, and validation to support governance and assessment activities.
- Identify gaps in existing data governance practices and recommend improvements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver governance initiatives.
- Provide clear communication and guidance to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mandatory Skills
- 5+ years of OpenMetadata experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Collate
- Experience with multiple OpenMetadata / Collate implementations
