Junior Data Governance Analyst - Public Health

QAT Global, a US-based IT consulting firm with 30 years of experience, is seeking an entry-level Data Governance Analyst to support a Public Health customer, working alongside business and technical teams to strengthen data governance and data management practices.

About the Role

• This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to build a foundation in data governance, metadata management, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll work alongside experienced Data Stewards, Data Owners, and technical teams, learning how data assets are documented and governed, with support from Collibra (our data governance/catalog tool) under the guidance of senior team members.
• This role is a good fit for someone detail-oriented, organized, and eager to develop strong documentation and communication skills.

• What You'll Do
• Help gather, document, and organize business and technical metadata alongside senior analysts and Data Stewards.
• Assist in maintaining data catalog entries, glossary terms, and ownership information.
• Support documentation of data lineage across systems, reports, and dashboards.
• Take notes and track action items during governance meetings.
• Help facilitate conversations between business and technical stakeholders.
• Assist with updating governance procedures and SOPs, and building simple progress trackers.

• What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Data Management, Business, Analytics, or related field — or equivalent coursework/project experience.
• No prior professional experience required; interest in data governance or data quality is what matters most.
• Comfortable learning new tools; prior exposure to Collibra is a bonus, not required.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and good communication.
• Basic familiarity with Excel is helpful.

• Nice to Have
• Exposure to Power BI, SQL basics, Databricks, Snowflake, or ArcGIS.
• Interest in healthcare, public health, or government data.
