Startech Networks Inc. (STN) is a network infrastructure services provider specializing in hyperscale data center deployment. We deliver structured cabling, rack & stack, and complete network build-outs for major hyperscale operators and their prime contractors, and we operate large field crews across greenfield, colocation, and campus environments.

This is a contract-to-hire engagement. The role begins as a contract assignment on our current data center build project. Based on performance — quality of work, safety record, reliability, teamwork, and leadership — top performers will be offered full-time permanent positions with Startech Networks and rolled into our ongoing hyperscale project pipeline. Compensation, benefits, and direct-hire terms are discussed with candidates who advance through the initial contract phase.

  • Contract-to-Hire | On-Site | Hyperscale Data Center Build
  • Approximate start date: 2nd week of September to 4th week of September

  • General Foreman / Project Manager – BICSI RCDD Certified
  • Role Overview
  • Startech is hiring approximately 4 RCDD-certified General Foremen / Project Managers to lead workstreams on our current hyperscale data center build. Each GF/PM will supervise 4–6 Working Foremen (approximately 25–50 field crew) and report to a Workstream Superintendent. This is a senior technical leadership role requiring deep structured cabling expertise, disciplined project management, and daily visible field presence.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Own workstream delivery for your assigned zone — production, quality, safety, and schedule.
  • Supervise 4–6 Working Foremen; hold daily production huddles and weekly review meetings.
  • Interpret structured cabling designs, review submittals, resolve RFIs, and manage change orders through the customer engineering interface.
  • Develop and maintain 4-week look-ahead schedules; escalate blockers and dependency risks to the Superintendent.
  • Interface with customer engineering teams (prime contractor, hyperscale DC operator) on technical questions and scope clarifications.
  • Review test results and as-built documentation before customer submission; own quality of the deliverable package.
  • Enforce compliance with BICSI, TIA-568, TIA-942, TIA-606, and OSHA standards for your workstream.
  • Coordinate material flow with the Warehouse Coordinator — cable reels, hardware, rack cabinets, consumables.
  • Coordinate with other trades (electrical, mechanical, security) to prevent overlap-loss and rework.
  • Own performance management and development for foremen and field crew in your zone.
  • Contribute to Star Tech's continuous improvement of installation methods, quality processes, and safety programs.
  • Required Certifications
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) — current and in good standing (documentation required at application).
  • OSHA 30 (or ability to complete before mobilization).
  • Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of structured cabling experience, with at least 3 years in data center environments.
  • Minimum 3 years in a Project Manager, General Foreman, or Superintendent capacity managing crews of 25+ techs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fiber optic infrastructure: MPO/MDC/MMC connectors, high-density trunk deployments, structured cabling for hyperscale environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of TIA-568, TIA-942, TIA-606, and BICSI ITSIMM/TDMM standards.
  • Proficient with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Primavera, or equivalent).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for production tracking, schedule management, and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting production updates and technical positions to customer engineering.
  • Ability to read, mark up, and issue as-built structured cabling drawings.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional BICSI credentials: DCDC (Data Center Design Consultant), NTS, OSP, or WD.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Prior experience with hyperscale customer standards (Meta, Google, AWS, Microsoft, or comparable).
  • Prior work with major network hardware deployments (Ericsson, Cisco, Arista, Nokia, Juniper).
  • Experience with fusion splicing (Sumitomo Q102, Fujikura 90R+).
  • Familiarity with test platforms: Fluke Versiv / OptiFiber Pro, Viavi T-BERD, EXFO MaxTester.
  • BIM / CAD familiarity for markup and as-built review.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk data center floors for extended periods, including climbing to inspect overhead work.
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work extended hours during critical phases of the project.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, and hi-vis vest in active work zones.
  • Position Details
  • Reports To: Workstream Superintendent → Project Director
  • Direct Reports: 4–6 Working Foremen (approximately 25–50 field crew)
  • Work Environment: Active data center construction; daily field walk-downs and customer interface
  • Schedule: On-site during current project window; extended hours during critical phases
  • Travel: On-site engagement; some travel may be required for planning meetings or subsequent assignments
  • How to Apply
  • Provide us with a copy of your resume, RCDD certification number, references and a brief summary of prior data center projects you've led here on LinkedIn with the title "General Foreman / PM – RCDD". Working Foreman – Optical Fiber (BICSI INST2-OF Certified)

  • Role Overview
  • Startech is hiring approximately 19 Working Foremen with active BICSI Installer 2 – Optical Fiber (INST2-OF) certification to lead field crews on our current hyperscale data center build. Each Foreman will supervise approximately 8 field technicians while directly participating in the installation work. This is a working leadership role — you will spend most of your day on the floor with your crew, not in an office.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a crew of 6–8 fiber installers across cable pull, patching, testing hand-off, and dressing activities in an assigned project zone.
  • Interpret cable schedules, elevation drawings, port maps, and BOM documentation; assign daily work packages to your crew.
