Job Summary Data Center Project Manager (HPC) Memphis, TN

• Project Oversight
• Manage research information services projects, including:
• Hardware/data center/HPC (high-performance computing) initiatives
• AI-related projects (using AI to optimize PM work, not develop AI solutions)
• Laboratory systems and data migration
• In-house application development and enhancements
• Projects span multiple sites (including VA)
• Team Environment
• Work with 5 core teams (15 20 people total)
• Typical project team size: ~5 members
• Teams include HPC, AI, cloud systems, and lab/research application experts
• Key Responsibilities
• Operate independently with minimal supervision
• Oversee infrastructure projects, hardware installs, and data center operations
• Manage technical and business teams effectively
• Utilize AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, automation) to optimize PM performance
• Qualifications & Experience
• Experienced Data Center Project Manager, specifically with HPC projects
• Strong technical background in hardware/data center/infrastructure projects
• Exposure to DevOps is a plus
• Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing system is advantageous
• Project Management Methodology
• Use a mix of Agile and Waterfall, with a primary focus on Waterfall
• Onsite Requirements
• Must relocate to Memphis, TN
• Onsite presence required for hardware installs and critical project activities (no fixed schedule)
• Desired Traits
• Self-sufficient, proactive, and hands-off project manager
• Adopts modern tools and practices (especially AI for productivity)
• Not an AI engineer, but adept at leveraging AI for project management tasks
